Production Optimisation Requires Understanding of Transients
OLGA is the world leading multiphase flow simulator and an industry standard within the area of flow assurance. Through continued development since 1980, OLGA has proven its accuracy in both the transient and the steady-state simulations of multiphase production and transportation. Its capability in downstream applications is now increasingly used for well flow simulations. The recent rapid uptake of OLGA simulator by well engineers around the world demonstrates recognition of the benefits of our unique simulation technology.
OLGA is an excellent tool to understand transient well flow behaviour and determine the optimal process to eliminate or minimise potential transient problems. It provides the possibility of building a virtual well that can be used to analyse what-if scenarios, diagnose well flow problems, and predict the specific results of well operations. It supplements the steady-state analysis by filling the knowledge and understanding gap left by the conventional analysis techniques. Well engineers have seen these benefits improve the well engineering design to ensure long term production optimisation, for conventional wells and particularly for wells with advanced completions and complex geometries such as long horizontal, multi-layer, multi-lateral, big-bore and undulating trajectory. |

OLGA can also be tailored as an online simulator, providing extra supervisory functions for real-time well monitoring, such as virtual gauges at any desired location, giving timely advice to the operators to overcome forecast difficulties in well operations.
Developments of OLGA planned for the near future will facilitate even greater growth in the applications of well flow simulations. SPT Group is committed to deliver high value to our customers in the well branch by continuously developing market-leading solutions. We would like to share our vision with all of our OLGA users who work on wells:
Work with the virtual well; don’t play with the actual well!
