Value creation and safe operations

SPT Group is the leader in modelling for the oil and gas industry. With more than 280 highly skilled professionals worldwide, SPT Group deliver advanced software and consulting services to help our customers solve multiphase flow and reservoir engineering challenges.

Solutions

Customer supported innovation and research has been at our core for more than 30 years. SPT Group has, over this long period, successfully transformed R&D into software solutions and consulting services that deliver trusted insight and real impact.

We focus our solutions in two critical areas for the upstream oil and gas industry: flow assurance and reservoir engineering. We aim to be the obvious choice for customers in these areas.

Products

We have the leading dynamic and steady state flow simulators covering drilling, wells, pipelines, and complex gas fields.

Our dynamic multiphase simulation software, OLGA, is the most trusted flow simulation software. PIPEFLO, Drillbench, WELLFLO, OLGA Online, and FORGAS complete the range of SPT Group’s unique simulation tools. MEPO is our reservoir optimisation software. MEPO integrates the tools used in common work processes and automates tasks using advanced methodologies to deliver better and quicker results.

“The Snøhvit field would not have been realised without the results from OLGA. The complexity of transporting unprocessed gas/condensate 140 km to shore through multiphase transportation was essential for the viability of the project.” Terje Overvik, former Executive Vice President, Head of Exploration & Production, Statoil

History

The company was established in 1989, focused on the development of the multiphase simulator OLGA. The development started in 1980 with IFE and Sintef, and the first version was ready in 1984. In 1989 Scandpower received the responsibility to commercialize the simulator, and the first commercial release was ready in 1991.

Since then OLGA has become the dominant transient multiphase simulator in the market. To bring OLGA's capabilities to online production, edpm was developed. Drillbench and MEPO complete the range of successful products.
